The concept of holding an international radio Conference belongs to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), which was welcomed by the member states of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the first round of the Conference was held coincident with the 9th Intentional Radio Festival in 2008. The second round of the Conference was this time noticed by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and request by the union for interaction in holding the Conference was agreed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, while this round was also held simultaneous with the 10th Intentional Radio Festival.
